³¹ “^(A)If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not ^[a]true. ³² There is ^(B)another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true.

Testimony of John the Baptist

³³ You have sent messengers to John, and he ^(C)has testified to the truth. ³⁴ But ^(D)the testimony I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. ³⁵ He was ^(E)the lamp that was burning and shining, and you ^(F)were willing to rejoice for ^[b]a while in his light.

Testimony of Works

³⁶ But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for ^(G)the works which the Father has given Me ^(H)to accomplish—the very works that I do—testify about Me, that the Father ^(I)has sent Me.

Testimony of the Father

³⁷ And the Father who sent Me, ^(J)He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. ³⁸ Also you do not have ^(K)His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He ^(L)sent.

Testimony of the Scripture

^39 [c](M)You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is ^(N)those very Scriptures that testify about Me; ⁴⁰ and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

Jesus Is the Light of the World

¹² Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “^(A)I am the Light of the world; ^(B)the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” ¹³ So the Pharisees said to Him, “^(C)You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not ^[a]true.” ¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, “^(D)Even if I am testifying about Myself, My testimony is ^[b]true, because I know ^(E)where I came from and where I am going; but ^(F)you do not know where I come from or where I am going. ^15 (G)You judge ^[c]according to the flesh; ^(H)I am not judging anyone. ¹⁶ But even ^(I)if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. ¹⁷ Even in ^(J)your Law it has been written that the testimony of ^(K)two people is ^[d]true. ¹⁸ I am He who testifies about Myself, and ^(L)the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” ¹⁹ So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; ^(M)if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.” ²⁰ These words He spoke ^[e]in ^(N)the treasury, as ^(O)He taught in the temple area; and no one arrested Him, because ^(P)His hour had not yet come.
