³⁶ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,^(A) but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

²¹ Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.^(A) The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,^(B) and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

²³ Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.^(A) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.^(B)

⁸ This is to my Father’s glory,^(A) that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.^(B)

⁹ “As the Father has loved me,^(C) so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. ¹⁰ If you keep my commands,^(D) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

¹³ Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.^{(A) 14} You are my friends^(B) if you do what I command.^(C)
