¹³ No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.^[a](A)

³⁸ for I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.^(A)

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, himself God, who^[a] is close to the Father’s heart,^[b] who has made him known.^(A)

³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

⁴⁷ The first man was from the earth, made of dust; the second man is^[a] from heaven.^(A)

⁶ But the righteousness that comes from faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down)

⁹ (When it says, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended^[a] into the lower parts of the earth?^{[b] 10} He who descended is the same one who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things.)

³ Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he had come from God and was going to God,^(A)

⁶² Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?^(A)
