^14 (A)In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.

^45 (A)And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, ⁴⁶ saying to them, “It is written, ^(B)‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but ^(C)you have made it a den of robbers.”

^15 (A)And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of ^(B)the money-changers and the seats of those who sold ^(C)pigeons.

¹⁷ And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ^(A)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But ^(B)you have made it a den of robbers.”

²³ And before the Lord your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, ^(A)you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, ^(B)and the firstborn of your herd and flock, ^(C)that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always. ²⁴ And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the Lord your God blesses you, because ^(D)the place is too far from you, which the Lord your God chooses, to set his name there, ²⁵ then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the Lord your God chooses ²⁶ and spend the money for whatever you desire—oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And ^(E)you shall eat there before the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.

^12 (A)And Jesus entered the temple^[a] and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of ^(B)the money-changers and the seats of those who sold ^(C)pigeons. ¹³ He said to them, “It is written, ^(D)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but ^(E)you make it a den of robbers.”

3 ^(A)“Behold, I send ^(B)my messenger, and ^(C)he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord ^(D)whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and ^(E)the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. ² But ^(F)who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For ^(G)he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. ³ He will sit ^(H)as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring ^(I)offerings in righteousness to the Lord.^[a]
