⁴ Jesus therefore, ^(A)knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”

Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet

13 Now ^(A)before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that ^(B)His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He ^(C)loved them to the end.

⁷ Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?”

And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

²² And see, now ^(A)I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, ²³ except that ^(B)the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.

²⁴ So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, ^(A)You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, ²⁵ who ^[a]by the mouth of Your servant David have said:

²⁷ “For ^(C)truly against ^(D)Your holy Servant Jesus, ^(E)whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together ^28 (F)to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

It Is Finished

²⁸ After this, Jesus, ^[a]knowing that all things were now accomplished, ^(A)that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”

¹¹ For ^(A)He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”
