Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane^(A)

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^(B)He went out with His disciples over ^(C)the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered.

^36 (B)Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.”

^32 (B)Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

²³ And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people crossed over. The king himself also crossed over the Brook Kidron, and all the people crossed over toward the way of the ^(A)wilderness.

²⁶ One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”

^39 (B)Coming out, ^(C)He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. ^40 (D)When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

³¹ But that the world may know that I love the Father, and ^(A)as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

⁴⁰ And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, ^(A)to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, ^(B)shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”

¹⁴ They arose and took away the ^(A)altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away all the incense altars and cast them into the Brook ^(B)Kidron.

¹⁶ Also he removed ^(A)Maachah, the ^[a]mother of Asa the king, from being queen mother, because she had made an obscene image of ^[b]Asherah; and Asa cut down her obscene image, then crushed and burned it by the Brook Kidron.
