John 17

17 When Jesus had said these things, he looked up to heaven and said, `Father, the time has come now. Make your Son's name great, so that your Son may make your name great.
2 You have given your Son power over all people. So all those you have given him will live for ever.
3 You are the only true God. If they know you, and Jesus Christ whom you sent, they will live for ever.
4 I made your name great on earth. I have done the work you gave me to do.
5 So now, Father, let my name be great with you. Make my name as great as it was when I was with you before the world was made.
6 `I have shown these men who you really are. They are men whom you gave me from the world. They belonged to you and you gave them to me. They have obeyed you.
7 Now they really know that everything you gave me comes from you.
8 I have told them the things that you told me to tell them. And they have believed my words. They know it is true that I was with you before I came. They have believed that you sent me.
9 It is these men I am asking you for. I am not asking you for the people of the world. But I am asking for those you gave me, because they belong to you.
10 All those I have are yours. And all you have are mine. And they make my name great.
11 `I am not in the world any longer. But they are in the world. And I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me. Then they will be one, just as you and I are one.
12 While I was with them, I took care of them in your name, which you gave me. I have taken care of them. Only one of them is lost. That is the one who was born to be lost. What your book says came true.
13 Now I am coming to you. `I say these things while I am in the world so that they may be very glad, as I am.
14 I have told them what you said. The world has hated them because they do not belong to the world. So also, I do not belong to the world.
15 I do not ask you to take them out of the world. But I ask you to take care of them, so that the evil one of this world will not harm them.
16 They do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.
17 Make them clean by the true word and keep them for yourself. Your word is true.
18 I have sent them into the world as you sent me into the world.
19 I have made myself clean and kept myself for them, so that they may be clean and be kept for you also by the truth.
20 `I do not ask this for these people only; I ask it also for the people who will believe in me when they hear what these people say.
21 I do this so that the people will all be one. That is the same way with us. You, my Father, belong to me and I belong to you. I ask that they also may be joined to us. Then the world will believe that you have sent me.
22 I have made them great the way you have made me great. That makes us one, as we are one.
23 I belong to them and you belong to me, so that they all may be really one together. Then the world will know that you have sent me and that you have loved them just as you have loved me.
24 `Father, I want the people that you have given me to be with me. Then they will see that you made me great, because you loved me before you made the world.
25 Father, you are the one who is right. The world has not known you. But I have known you. These people know that you have sent me.
26 I have told them who you are. I will tell them again and again. Then they will love each other as much as you have loved me. And I will live in them.'

17 耶稣说完后，就抬头望着天说：“父啊！时候到了，愿你使你的儿子得荣耀，好让你的儿子也使你得荣耀。 2 因为你把管理世人的权柄赐给了祂，使祂可以将永生赐予你交托给祂的人。 3 这永生就是，认识你——独一的真神，并且认识你所差来的耶稣基督。 4 我已经完成你交给我的工作，使你在地上得了荣耀。 5 父啊，现在让我和你同享创世以前我们所共有的荣耀吧！
6 “你从世上赐给我的人，我已将你[a]显明给他们。他们本来属于你，你将他们赐给了我，他们遵守你的道。 7 如今他们知道，你赐给我的一切都是从你那里来的， 8 因为我已经把你赐给我的道赐给他们，他们也接受了，并且确实知道我是从你那里来的，也相信是你差遣了我。
9 “我不为世人祈求，却为他们祈求，就是为你赐给我的那些人祈求，因为他们属于你。 10 一切属于我的都是你的，属于你的也是我的，我从他们身上得了荣耀。 11 现在我要离开这个世界去你那里了，他们却仍然留在世上。圣父啊，求你为了自己的名，就是你赐给我的名而保守他们，使他们像我们一样合而为一。 12 我和他们在一起的时候，靠着你赐给我的名保守他们，看顾他们。除了那个注定灭亡的人以外，他们一个也没有灭亡，这是为了应验圣经上的话。

20 “我不但为这些人祈求，也为那些因他们的话而信我的人祈求， 21 使他们都合而为一，正如父你在我里面，我在你里面一样，并且使他们也在我们里面，好让世人相信是你差我来的。 22 我又将你赐给我的荣耀赐给他们，使他们像我们一样合而为一。 23 我在他们里面，你在我里面，好使他们也完完全全地合而为一。这样，世人便知道我是你差来的，而且知道你爱他们，就像爱我一样。
24 “父啊！我在哪里，愿你赐给我的人也在哪里，好让他们看见你赐给我的荣耀，因为在创世以前你已经爱我了。 25 公义的父啊！世界还未认识你以前，我已经认识你了，这些人也知道是你差我来的。 26 我使他们认识了你的名，我还要使他们更认识你，好让你对我的爱存在他们里面，我也在他们里面。”

17 Jesus spoke these things; and (A)lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; (B)glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as (C)You gave Him authority over all flesh, that (D)to [a]all whom You have given Him, (E)He may give eternal life. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, (F)the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom (G)You have sent. 4 (H)I glorified You on the earth, [b](I)having finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 Now, Father, (J)glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had (K)with You before the world was.

6 “(L)I have manifested Your name to the men whom (M)You gave Me out of the world; they were (N)Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have (O)kept Your word. 7 Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; 8 for (P)the words which You gave Me (Q)I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that (R)I came forth from You, and they believed that (S)You sent Me. 9 (T)I ask on their behalf; (U)I do not ask on behalf of the world but of those whom (V)You have given Me; for (W)they are Yours; 10 and (X)all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world; and yet (Y)they themselves are in the world, and (Z)I come to You. 20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; (AU)even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, (AV)so that the world may [f]believe that (AW)You sent Me. 22 The (AX)glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 (AY)I in them and You in Me, that they may be [g]perfected [h]in unity, so that the world may [i]know that (AZ)You sent Me, and (BA)loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that (BB)they also, whom You have given Me, (BC)be with Me where I am, so that they may see My (BD)glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before (BE)the foundation of the world.
25 “O (BF)righteous Father, [j]although (BG)the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that (BH)You sent Me; 26 and (BI)I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (BJ)the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
