Unity and Diversity in the Body

¹² Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body,^(A) so it is with Christ.^(B)

¹¹ Here there is no Gentile or Jew,^(A) circumcised or uncircumcised,^(B) barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,^(C) but Christ is all,^(D) and is in all.

¹² Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves^(E) with compassion, kindness, humility,^(F) gentleness and patience.^{(G) 13} Bear with each other^(H) and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.^{(I) 14} And over all these virtues put on love,^(J) which binds them all together in perfect unity.^(K)

Life Worthy of the Gospel

²⁷ Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy^(A) of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm^(B) in the one Spirit,^[a] striving together^(C) as one for the faith of the gospel

²⁵ so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. ²⁶ If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ,^(A) and each one of you is a part of it.^(B)

³⁵ By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”^(A)

³ Make every effort to keep the unity^(A) of the Spirit through the bond of peace.^{(B) 4} There is one body^(C) and one Spirit,^(D) just as you were called to one hope when you were called^(E); ⁵ one Lord,^(F) one faith, one baptism; ⁶ one God and Father of all,^(G) who is over all and through all and in all.^(H)
