John 16:5-17

⁵ But now ^(A)I am going to him who sent me, and ^(B)none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ ⁶ But because I have said these things to you, ^(C)sorrow has filled your heart. ⁷ Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for ^(D)if I do not go away, ^(E)the Helper will not come to you. But ^(F)if ^(G)I go, ^(H)I will send him to you. ^8 (I)And when he comes, he will ^(J)convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement: ⁹ concerning sin, ^(K)because they do not believe in me; ^10 (L)concerning righteousness, ^(M)because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; ^11 (N)concerning judgement, because the ruler of this world ^(O)is judged.

¹² “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ When ^(P)the Spirit of truth comes, ^(Q)he will ^(R)guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but ^(S)whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. ¹⁴ He will ^(T)glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. ^15 (U)All that the Father has is mine; ^(V)therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

Your Sorrow Will Turn into Joy

^16 (W)“A little while, and you will see me no longer; and ^(X)again a little while, and you will see me.” ¹⁷ So ^(Y)some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ^(Z)‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, ^(AA)‘because I am going to the Father’?”
