²³ In that day^(A) you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.^(B)

⁷ If you remain in me^(A) and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.^(B)

¹⁴ This is the confidence^(A) we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.^{(B) 15} And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know^(C) that we have what we asked of him.^(D)

¹⁶ If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life.^(E) I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death.^(F) I am not saying that you should pray about that.^(G)

¹³ And I will do whatever you ask^(A) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

²² If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for^(A) in prayer.”

A Call to Persevere in Faith

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence^(A) to enter the Most Holy Place^(B) by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way^(C) opened for us through the curtain,^(D) that is, his body, ²¹ and since we have a great priest^(E) over the house of God,^{(F) 22} let us draw near to God^(G) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,^(H) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience^(I) and having our bodies washed with pure water.^{(J) 23} Let us hold unswervingly to the hope^(K) we profess,^(L) for he who promised is faithful.^(M)

²⁶ In that day you will ask in my name.^(A) I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.

²⁰ On that day^(A) you will realize that I am in my Father,^(B) and you are in me, and I am in you.^(C)
