²¹ Then they came to Philip, ^(A)who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”

² saying, ^(A)“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen ^(B)His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

² Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. ³ And he sought to ^(A)see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. ⁴ So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

⁸ Now I say that ^(A)Jesus Christ has become a ^[a]servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, ^(B)to confirm the promises made to the fathers, ⁹ and ^(C)that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:

¹² And again, Isaiah says:

⁸ Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”

⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? ^(A)He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

⁴⁰ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, ^(A)that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

^5 (A)Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to ^(B)Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” ⁶ But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.

⁷ Philip answered Him, ^(C)“Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”

³⁶ And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, ^(A)“Behold the Lamb of God!”

³⁷ The two disciples heard him speak, and they ^(B)followed Jesus. ³⁸ Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”

They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”

³⁹ He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, ^(A)Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

²³ But He answered her not a word.

And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

²⁴ But He answered and said, ^(B)“I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

²⁵ Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

²⁶ But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little ^(C)dogs.”

²⁷ And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, ^(D)great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
