³² Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

¹² not as ^(A)Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.

³⁸ how ^(A)God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who ^(B)went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, ^(C)for God was with Him.

²² “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you ^(A)by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

^37 (A)If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;

²⁵ Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. ^(A)The works that I do in My Father’s name, they ^(B)bear witness of Me.

³⁶ But ^(A)I have a greater witness than John’s; for ^(B)the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very ^(C)works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

¹⁹ Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. ²⁰ For ^(B)the Father loves the Son, and ^(C)shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

^5 (A)The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and ^(B)the poor have the gospel preached to them.

The Vanity of Selfish Toil

⁴ Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
