²⁶ but you do not believe because you do not belong to my sheep.^(A)

⁴⁷ Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.”^(A)

³ And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.^{(A) 4} In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing clearly the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.^(B)

³⁷ Although he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him. ³⁸ This was to fulfill the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah:

³⁹ And so they could not believe, because Isaiah also said,

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.^(A)

⁶⁵ And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted by the Father.”^(A)

⁶ We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and whoever is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.^(A)

⁷ What then? Israel has not achieved what it was pursuing. The elect have achieved it, but the rest were hardened,^{(A) 8} as it is written,

⁴ When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me, and I will raise that person up on the last day.^{(A) 45} It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.^(B)
