12 He who is (A)a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and (B)leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and (C)scatters them. 13 He flees because (D)he is a hired hand and (E)cares nothing for the sheep. 14 (F)I am the good shepherd. (G)I know my own and (H)my own know me, 15 (I)just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and (J)I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And (K)I have other sheep that are not of this fold. (L)I must bring them also, and (M)they will listen to my voice. So there will be (N)one flock, (O)one shepherd. 17 (P)For this reason the Father loves me, (Q)because (R)I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 (S)No one takes it from me, but (T)I lay it down (U)of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and (V)I have authority to take it up again. (W)This charge I have received from my Father.”
