¹⁰ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

^10 (A)for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(A)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(B)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

⁴⁷ And if anyone hears My words and does not ^[a]believe, ^(A)I do not judge him; for ^(B)I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

³³ For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

^17 (A)For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

¹³ (For until the law sin was in the world, but ^(A)sin is not imputed when there is no law. ¹⁴ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, ^(B)who is a type of Him who was to come. ¹⁵ But the free gift is not like the ^[a]offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded ^(C)to many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many ^[b]offenses resulted in justification. ¹⁷ For if by the one man’s ^[c]offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

¹⁸ Therefore, as through ^[d]one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through ^(D)one^[e] Man’s righteous act the free gift came ^(E)to all men, resulting in justification of life. ¹⁹ For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by ^(F)one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

²⁰ Moreover ^(G)the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace ^(H)abounded much more, ²¹ so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

² “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ^(A)“Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? ^3 (B)You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you ^(C)slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. ^4 (D)The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor ^(E)sought what was lost; but with ^(F)force and ^[a]cruelty you have ruled them.
