^9 (A)That^[a] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

⁸ Again, ^(A)a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, ^(B)because the darkness is passing away, and ^(C)the true light is already shining.

^46 (A)I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

^4 (A)In Him was life, and ^(B)the life was the light of men.

^4 (A)But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all ^(B)sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. ^6 (C)Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but ^(D)let us watch and be ^[a]sober. ⁷ For ^(E)those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk ^(F)are drunk at night.

⁷ This man came for a ^(A)witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might ^(B)believe.

²⁰ And we know that the ^(A)Son of God has come and ^(B)has given us an understanding, ^(C)that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. ^(D)This is the true God ^(E)and eternal life.

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am ^(A)the way, ^(B)the truth, and ^(C)the life. ^(D)No one comes to the Father ^(E)except through Me.
