⁴⁵ Philip found ^(A)Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom ^(B)Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus ^(C)of Nazareth, ^(D)the son of Joseph.”

^18 (A)I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. ^(B)And I will put my words in his mouth, and ^(C)he shall speak to them all that I command him. ^19 (D)And whoever will ^(E)not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. ^20 (F)But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or^[a] who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ ²¹ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— ^22 (G)when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; ^(H)the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

²⁷ And ^(A)beginning with ^(B)Moses and ^(C)all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, ^(A)“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, ^(B)that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

²³ And he went and lived in a city called ^(A)Nazareth, ^(B)so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.

²² And all spoke well of him and marveled at ^(A)the gracious words that were coming from his mouth. And they said, ^(B)“Is not this ^(C)Joseph's son?”

¹¹ And the crowds said, “This is ^(A)the prophet Jesus, ^(B)from Nazareth of Galilee.”

² Simon Peter, ^(A)Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of ^(B)Cana in Galilee, ^(C)the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

⁷ So he asked them again, ^(A)“Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
