³⁵ Again ^(A)the next day John was standing ^[a]with two of his disciples, ³⁶ and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and *said, “Behold, ^(B)the Lamb of God!”

⁶ And I saw ^[a]between the throne (with the four living creatures) and ^(A)the elders a ^(B)Lamb standing, as if ^(C)slaughtered, having seven ^(D)horns and ^(E)seven eyes, which are ^[b](F)the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

The Fifth Seal: Martyrs

⁹ When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw ^(A)underneath the ^(B)altar the ^(C)souls of those who had been killed ^(D)because of the word of God, and because of the ^(E)testimony which they had maintained;

¹⁷ for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their ^(A)shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the ^[a](B)water of life; and ^(C)God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

¹⁰ he also will drink of the ^(A)wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed ^[a]in full strength ^(B)in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with ^(C)fire and ^[b]brimstone in the presence of the ^(D)holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

³ And they *sang the ^(A)song of Moses, ^(B)the bond-servant of God, and the ^(C)song of the Lamb, saying,

⁹ Then ^(A)he *said to me, “^(B)Write: ‘^(C)Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “^(D)These are the true words of God.”

²³ And the city ^(A)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for ^(B)the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the ^(C)Lamb.

22 And ^(A)he showed me a ^(B)river of the ^(C)water of life, ^[a]clear ^(D)as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of ^[b]the Lamb,
