³ Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone ^(A)is born ^[a]again he cannot see ^(B)the kingdom of God.”

⁴ Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” ⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of ^(C)water and the Spirit, he cannot enter ^(D)the kingdom of God. ^6 (E)That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. ⁷ Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born ^[b]again.’ ^8 (F)The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit

¹⁶ I will ask the Father, and He will give you another ^[a](A)Helper, so that He may be with you forever; ¹⁷ the Helper is ^(B)the Spirit of truth, ^(C)whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.

⁷ But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the ^[a](A)Helper will not come to you; but if I go, ^(B)I will send Him to you. ⁸ And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment: ⁹ regarding sin, ^(C)because they do not believe in Me; ¹⁰ and regarding ^(D)righteousness, because ^(E)I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me; ^11 (F)and regarding judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
