²⁸ I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand.^{(A) 29} My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,^[a] and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.^(B)

¹² When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled.^(A)
