Joel 2:28-32

The day of the Lord
28 ‘And afterwards,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
whom the Lord calls.[a]

29 그 때에 내가 또 나의 남녀 종들에게 성령을 부어 줄 것이며
30 내가 하늘과 땅에 이상한 징조를 보여 줄 것이니 곧 피와 불과 연기 기둥이다.
31 나 여호와의 크고 두려운 날이 오기 전에 해가 어두워지고 달이 핏빛으로 변할 것이다.
32 누구든지 나 여호와의 이름을 부르는 사람은 구원을 받을 것이다. 내가 말한 대로 시온산과 예루살렘에서 피할 자가 있을 것이며 살아 남은 사람 중에 나의 부름을 받을 자가 있을 것이다.”

2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

16 ‘All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. 2 They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. 3 They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4 I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you, 5 but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, “Where are you going?” 6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
12 ‘I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.’

16 “너희가 [a]믿음에서 넘어지지 않게 하려고 내가 이 말을 너희에게 하였다.
2 사람들이 너희를 회당에서 쫓아낼 것이다. 사실 너희를 죽이는 사람이 자기는 그렇게 하는 것이 하나님을 섬기는 일이라고 생각할 때가 올 것이다.
3 그들은 아버지와 나를 모르기 때문에 그런 짓을 할 것이다.
4 내가 이 말을 너희에게 미리 해 두는 것은 그런 때가 오면 너희가 내 경고를 기억하도록 하기 위해서이다. 내가 처음부터 이 말을 너희에게 하지 않은 것은 너희가 나와 함께 있었기 때문이다.
5 “이제 내가 나를 보내신 분에게로 가는데도 너희는 내게 어디로 가느냐고 묻지도 않고
6 오히려 내가 이런 말을 한다고 슬픔에 잠겨 있다.
7 그러나 사실은 내가 떠나가는 것이 너희에게 유익하다. 내가 떠나가지 않으면 [b]보호자가 너희에게 오시지 않을 것이다. 내가 가면 그분을 너희에게 보내겠다.
8 그분이 오시면 죄와 의와 심판에 대하여 세상이 잘못 생각하고 있는 점을 깨우쳐 주실 것이다.
9 ‘죄에 대하여’ 라고 한 것은 사람들이 나를 믿지 않기 때문이며
10 ‘의에 대하여’ 라고 한 것은 내가 아버지께로 가므로 너희가 다시는 나를 볼 수 없기 때문이요
11 ‘심판에 대하여’ 라고 한 것은 이 세상 임금인 사탄이 이미 심판을 받았기 때문이다.
12 “내가 아직도 너희에게 할 말이 많지만 지금은 너희가 알아듣지 못할 것이다.
13 그러나 진리의 성령이 오시면 그분이 너희를 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하실 것이다. 그분은 자기 생각대로 말씀하시지 않고 들은 것만 말씀하실 것이며 앞으로 일어날 일도 너희에게 말씀해 주실 것이다.
14 그분은 [c]내가 말하는 것을 받아 너희에게 알려 줌으로써 나를 영광스럽게 하실 것이다.
15 아버지께서 가지신 모든 것은 다 내 것이다. 그래서 나는 그분이 내 말을 받아 너희에게 알려 주실 것이라고 하였다.
