Then Job answered the Lord and said,

“Behold, I am insignificant; what can I say in response to You?
I (A)put my hand on my mouth.
I have spoken once, and (B)I will not reply;
Or twice, and I will add nothing more.”

Then Job replied to the Lord. He said:

“I must look insignificant to you!
    How can I answer you?
        I’m speechless.[a]
I spoke once,
    but I can’t answer;
I tried[b] a second time,
    but I won’t do so anymore.”
