² and said, “My lords, ^(A)please turn aside to your servant's house and spend the night ^(B)and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, ^(C)“No; we will spend the night in the town square.” ³ But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

^2 (A)Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby ^(B)some have entertained angels unawares.

²⁰ And the old man said, ^(A)“Peace be to you; I will care for all your wants. ^(B)Only, do not spend the night in the square.” ²¹ So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys feed. ^(C)And they washed their feet, and ate and drank.

^9 (A)Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

^13 (A)Contribute to the needs of the saints and ^(B)seek to show hospitality.

³⁵ For ^(A)I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you ^(B)gave me drink, ^(C)I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

¹⁰ and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has ^(A)shown hospitality, ^(B)has washed the feet of the saints, has ^(C)cared for the afflicted, and has ^(D)devoted herself to every good work.

⁴⁴ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ ⁴⁵ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, ^(A)you did not do it to me.’

⁴⁰ And ^(A)the King will answer them, ^(B)‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these ^(C)my brothers,^[a] you did it to me.’
