¹³ “But he stands alone, and who can oppose him?^(A)
    He does whatever he pleases.^(B)

³ Our God is in heaven;^(A)
    he does whatever pleases him.^(B)

³⁵ All the peoples of the earth
    are regarded as nothing.^(A)
He does as he pleases^(B)
    with the powers of heaven
    and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back^(C) his hand^(D)
    or say to him: “What have you done?”^(E)

²¹ Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
    but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.^(A)

¹⁹ God is not human,^(A) that he should lie,^(B)
    not a human being, that he should change his mind.^(C)
Does he speak and then not act?
    Does he promise^(D) and not fulfill?
²⁰ I have received a command to bless;^(E)
    he has blessed,^(F) and I cannot change it.^(G)

¹⁰ I make known the end from the beginning,^(A)
    from ancient times,^(B) what is still to come.^(C)
I say, ‘My purpose will stand,^(D)
    and I will do all that I please.’

¹⁴ What he tears down^(A) cannot be rebuilt;^(B)
    those he imprisons cannot be released.^(C)

“Surely, as I have planned,^(B) so it will be,
    and as I have purposed, so it will happen.^(C)
25 I will crush the Assyrian^(D) in my land;
    on my mountains I will trample him down.
His yoke^(E) will be taken from my people,
    and his burden removed from their shoulders.^(F)”

²⁶ This is the plan^(G) determined for the whole world;
    this is the hand^(H) stretched out over all nations.
²⁷ For the Lord Almighty has purposed,^(I) and who can thwart him?
    His hand^(J) is stretched out, and who can turn it back?^(K)
