⁶ If you have sinned, ^(A)what do you accomplish against him?
    And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
^7 (B)If you are righteous, what do you give to him?
    Or what does he receive from your hand?
⁸ Your wickedness concerns a man like yourself,
    and your righteousness ^(C)a son of man.

² I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    ^(A)I have no good apart from you.”

^13 (A)Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
    and the one who gets understanding,
^14 (B)for the gain from her is better than gain from silver
    and her profit better than ^(C)gold.
¹⁵ She is more precious than ^(D)jewels,
    and ^(E)nothing you desire can compare with her.
^16 (F)Long life is in her right hand;
    in her left hand are ^(G)riches and honor.
¹⁷ Her ^(H)ways are ways of pleasantness,
    and all her paths are peace.
¹⁸ She is ^(I)a tree of life to those who ^(J)lay hold of her;
    those who hold her fast are called blessed.

^15 (A)What is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
    And what ^(B)profit do we get if we pray to him?’

¹¹ Wisdom is good with an inheritance,
    an advantage to those who ^(A)see the sun.
¹² For the protection of wisdom is like ^(B)the protection of money,
    and the advantage of knowledge is that ^(C)wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.
