Job 1:4-5
New International Version
4 His sons used to hold feasts(A) in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified.(B) Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering(C) for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned(D) and cursed God(E) in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.
Job 1:4-5
International Standard Version
4 His sons used to travel to each other’s houses in turn on a regular schedule and hold festivals, inviting their three sisters to celebrate[a] with them.
5 When their time of feasting had concluded, Job would rise early in the morning to send for them[b] and consecrate them to God.[c] He would offer a burnt offering for each one,[d] because Job thought, “Perhaps my children sinned by cursing God in their hearts.” Job did this time and again.[e]
