Jeremiah 38:17-18

17 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “Thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: (A)If you will surrender to (B)the officials of the king of Babylon, (C)then your life shall be spared, and this city shall not be burned with fire, and you and your house shall live. 18 But if you do not surrender to (D)the officials of the king of Babylon, (E)then this city shall be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, (F)and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape from their hand.”

17 So Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “This is what the Lord (A)God of armies, the (B)God of Israel says: ‘If you will indeed (C)surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then [a]you will live, this city will not be burned with fire, and you and your household will [b]survive. 18 But if you do (D)not surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city (E)will be handed over to the Chaldeans; and they will burn it with fire, and (F)you yourself will not escape from their hands.’”
