Punishment Against Babylon

12 ‘Then it will be (A)when seventy years are fulfilled, that I will (B)punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares Yahweh, ‘for their iniquity, even the land of the Chaldeans; and (C)I will make it an everlasting desolation. 13 I will bring upon that land all My words which I have spoken against it, all that is written in (D)this book which Jeremiah has prophesied against (E)all the nations. 14 [a]For (F)many nations and great kings will make slaves of them, even them; and I will (G)repay them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands—’”

12 “Then, after the seventy years of captivity are over, I will punish the king of Babylon and his people for their sins,” says the Lord. “I will make the country of the Babylonians[a] a wasteland forever. 13 I will bring upon them all the terrors I have promised in this book—all the penalties announced by Jeremiah against the nations. 14 Many nations and great kings will enslave the Babylonians, just as they enslaved my people. I will punish them in proportion to the suffering they cause my people.”
