10 This is what the Lord says to this people: “So much they have (A)loved to wander; they have not (B)restrained their feet. Therefore the Lord does (C)not accept them; now He will (D)remember their wrongdoing and call their sins to account.” 11 So the Lord said to me, “(E)Do not pray for a good outcome on behalf of this people. 12 When they fast, I am (F)not going to listen to their cry; and when they offer (G)burnt offering and grain offering, I am not going to accept them. Rather, I am going to (H)put an end to them by the (I)sword, famine, and plague.”

God Responds to the Prophet

10 This is what the Lord says to these people:
“Yes, they do love to wander,
and they haven’t restrained their feet.
So the Lord won’t accept them now.
    He will remember their iniquity
        and punish their sin.”

11 Then the Lord told me, “Don’t pray for the welfare of these people. 12 Although they fast, I won’t listen to their cry, and although they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I won’t accept them. Instead, I’ll put an end to them with the sword, with famine, and with a plague.”
