²¹ “Did not the Lord remember^(A) and call to mind the incense^(B) burned in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem^(C) by you and your ancestors,^(D) your kings and your officials and the people of the land?^(E)

¹⁷ We will certainly do everything we said we would:^(A) We will burn incense^(B) to the Queen of Heaven^(C) and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our ancestors, our kings and our officials^(D) did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem.^(E) At that time we had plenty of food^(F) and were well off and suffered no harm.^(G)

⁹ Have you forgotten the wickedness committed by your ancestors^(A) and by the kings^(B) and queens^(C) of Judah and the wickedness committed by you and your wives^(D) in the land of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem?^(E)

¹⁰ This is what the Lord says about this people:

¹³ You, Judah, have as many gods^(A) as you have towns;^(B) and the altars you have set up to burn incense^(C) to that shameful^(D) god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’

⁷ The Lord has sworn by himself, the Pride of Jacob:^(A) “I will never forget^(B) anything they have done.^(C)
