³ Perhaps^(A) when the people of Judah hear^(B) about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn^(C) from their wicked ways; then I will forgive^(D) their wickedness and their sin.”

⁸ and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent^(A) and not inflict on it the disaster^(B) I had planned.

¹⁹ Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,^(A) that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

³ “Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps^(A) they will understand,^(B) though they are a rebellious people.^(C)

³ Perhaps they will listen and each will turn^(A) from their evil ways. Then I will relent^(B) and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

² and when you and your children return^(A) to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul according to everything I command you today,

⁷ Perhaps they will bring their petition^(A) before the Lord and will each turn^(B) from their wicked ways, for the anger^(C) and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”

⁹ The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,^(A) as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient^(B) with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.^(C)

¹⁸ to open their eyes^(A) and turn them from darkness to light,^(B) and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins^(C) and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’^(D)
