⁵ Then he said to Korah and all his followers: “In the morning the Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy,^(A) and he will have that person come near him.^(B) The man he chooses^(C) he will cause to come near him.

²³ I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend^(A) them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.^{(B) 24} I the Lord will be their God,^(C) and my servant David^(D) will be prince among them.^(E) I the Lord have spoken.^(F)

² He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins,^(A) and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.^(B)

³¹ God exalted him to his own right hand^(A) as Prince and Savior^(B) that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.^(C)

²⁴ “‘My servant David^(A) will be king^(B) over them, and they will all have one shepherd.^(C) They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.^(D)

¹⁶ On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:^(A)

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying:^(A)

²¹ but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:

²² Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.^(C)

²³ Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; ²⁴ but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.^{(D) 25} Therefore he is able to save^(E) completely^[b] those who come to God^(F) through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.^(G)

²⁶ Such a high priest^(H) truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners,^(I) exalted above the heavens.^(J)
