⁵ Moreover I ^(A)will deliver all the wealth of this city, all its produce, and all its precious things; all the treasures of the kings of Judah I will give into the hand of their enemies, who will plunder them, seize them, and ^(B)carry them to Babylon.

^25 (A)The conspiracy of her ^[a]prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they ^(B)have devoured ^[b]people; ^(C)they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst.

¹⁰ At the turn of the year ^(A)King Nebuchadnezzar summoned him and took him to Babylon, ^(B)with the costly articles from the house of the Lord, and made ^(C)Zedekiah,^{[a] [b]}Jehoiakim’s brother, king over Judah and Jerusalem.

^13 (A)The bronze ^(B)pillars that were in the house of the Lord, and ^(C)the carts and ^(D)the bronze Sea that were in the house of the Lord, the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and ^(E)carried their bronze to Babylon. ¹⁴ They also took away ^(F)the pots, the shovels, the trimmers, the spoons, and all the bronze utensils with which the priests ministered. ¹⁵ The firepans and the basins, the things of solid gold and solid silver, the captain of the guard took away. ¹⁶ The two pillars, one Sea, and the carts, which Solomon had made for the house of the Lord, ^(G)the bronze of all these articles was beyond measure. ^17 (H)The height of one pillar was ^[a]eighteen cubits, and the capital on it was of bronze. The height of the capital was three cubits, and the network and pomegranates all around the capital were all of bronze. The second pillar was the same, with a network.

^12 (A)Then Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers went out to the king of Babylon; and the king of Babylon, ^(B)in the eighth year of his reign, took him prisoner.

The Captivity of Jerusalem

^13 (C)And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house, and he ^(D)cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, ^(E)as the Lord had said. ¹⁴ Also ^(F)he carried into captivity all Jerusalem: all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ^(G)ten thousand captives, and ^(H)all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except ^(I)the poorest people of the land. ¹⁵ And ^(J)he carried Jehoiachin captive to Babylon. The king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the mighty of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon. ^16 (K)All the valiant men, seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths, one thousand, all who were strong and fit for war, these the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

¹⁷ ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and what your fathers have accumulated until this day, ^(A)shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the Lord. ¹⁸ ‘And ^(B)they shall take away some of your sons who will ^[a]descend from you, whom you will beget; ^(C)and they shall be ^(D)eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”
