^16 (A)Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord.

⁴ “Because they ^(A)have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with ^(B)the blood of the innocents

^4 (A)and also because of the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the Lord would not pardon.

² If the thief is found ^(A)breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be ^(B)no guilt for his bloodshed.

³¹ For when you offer ^(A)your gifts and make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. So shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live,” says the Lord God, “I will ^(B)not be inquired of by you.

^20 (A)“Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your acts of harlotry a small matter, ²¹ that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to pass through the ^(B)fire?

³¹ And they have built the ^(A)high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to ^(B)burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, ^(C)which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.
