⁶ But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,^(A) because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

²¹ Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt,^(A) not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. ²² If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for^(B) in prayer.”

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him^(A) must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

²² “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. ²³ “Truly^[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.^{(A) 24} Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.^(B)

¹⁴ Then we will no longer be infants,^(A) tossed back and forth by the waves,^(B) and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.^(C)

²³ Let us hold unswervingly to the hope^(A) we profess,^(B) for he who promised is faithful.^(C)

⁹ Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.^(A) It is good for our hearts to be strengthened^(B) by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,^(C) which is of no benefit to those who do so.^(D)

⁸ Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands^(A) without anger or disputing.

¹⁷ These people are springs without water^(A) and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.^(B)
