(A)If any of you lacks wisdom, (B)let him ask God, (C)who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But (D)let him ask in faith, (E)with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like (F)a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; (G)he is a double-minded man, (H)unstable in all his ways.

  1. James 1:10 Or a wild flower

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,(A) who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.(B) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,(C) because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded(D) and unstable(E) in all they do.

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.(F) 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.(G) 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat(H) and withers(I) the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.(J) In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
