Isaiah 62

King James Version

62 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

²And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

³Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

⁴Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

⁵For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

⁶I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,

⁷And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

⁸The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:

⁹But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

¹⁰Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.

¹¹Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

¹²And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Zion's Coming Salvation

62 ^(A)For Zion's sake I will not keep silent,
    and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be quiet,
^(B)until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
    and her salvation as a burning torch.
²^(C)The nations shall see your righteousness,
    and all the kings your glory,
^(D)and you shall be called by a new name
    that the mouth of the Lord will give.
³You shall be ^(E)a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
    and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
⁴^(F)You shall no more be termed ^(G)Forsaken,^[a]
    and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,^[b]
^(H)but you shall be called ^(I)My Delight Is in Her,^[c]
    and your land Married;^[d]
for the Lord delights in you,
    and your land shall be married.
⁵For as a young man marries a young woman,
    so ^(J)shall your sons marry you,

⁶On your walls, O Jerusalem,

You who put the Lord in remembrance,

    until he establishes Jerusalem

⁸The Lord has sworn ^(N)by his right hand
    and by his mighty arm:
“I will not again give ^(O)your grain
    to be food for your enemies,
^(P)and foreigners shall not drink your wine
    for which you have labored;
⁹but ^(Q)those who garner it shall eat it
    and praise the Lord,
and ^(R)those who gather it shall drink it
    in the courts of my sanctuary.”^[e]

¹⁰Go through, go through the gates;
    ^(S)prepare the way for the people;
^(T)build up, build up the highway;
    clear it of stones;
    ^(U)lift up a signal over the peoples.
¹¹Behold, the Lord has proclaimed
    to the end of the earth:
^(V)Say to the daughter of Zion,
    ^(W)“Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
    and his recompense before him.”
¹²^(X)And they shall be called The Holy People,
    The Redeemed of the Lord;
^(Y)and you shall be called Sought Out,
    A City Not Forsaken.

62 為了錫安我不再緘默，

為了耶路撒冷我不再沉默，
直到她的公義如明光照耀，
她的救恩如火把通明。
²耶路撒冷啊，
列國必看見你的公義，
列王必看見你的榮耀，
耶和華必親口賜你一個新名字。
³你必成為耶和華手中的華冠，
你上帝手上的榮冕。
⁴你不再被稱為「棄婦」，
你的土地不再被稱為「荒涼之地」。
你要被稱為「主喜悅的人」，
你的土地要被稱為「有夫之婦」，
因為耶和華必喜愛你，
做你土地的丈夫。
⁵你的人民必娶你，
好像男子娶少女；
上帝必喜愛你，
如同新郎喜愛新娘。

⁶耶路撒冷啊，
我已在你城牆上設立守望者。

Jerusalem redeemed

62 For Zion’s sake I won’t keep silent,
    and for Jerusalem’s sake I won’t sit still
    until her righteousness shines out like a light,
    and her salvation blazes like a torch.
²Nations will see your righteousness,
    all kings your glory.
You will be called by a new name,
    which the Lord’s own mouth will determine.
³You will be a splendid garland in the Lord’s hand,
    a royal turban in the palm of God’s hand.
⁴You will no longer be called Abandoned,
    and your land will no longer be called Deserted.
Instead, you will be called My Delight Is in Her,
    and your land, Married.
    Because the Lord delights in you,
    your land will be cared for once again.
⁵As a young man marries a young woman,
    so your sons will marry you.
    With the joy of a bridegroom because of his bride,
    so your God will rejoice because of you.

⁶Upon your walls, Jerusalem,
    I have appointed sentinels.
Continually, all day and all night,
    they won’t keep silent.
You who call on the Lord, don’t rest,
⁷    and don’t allow God to rest
    until he establishes Jerusalem,
    and makes it the praise of the earth.
⁸The Lord has promised
    with raised hand and strong arm:
    I will never again give your grain
    as food for your enemies.
    Foreigners won’t drink your wine
    for which you labored.
⁹Those who harvest will eat it
    and will praise the Lord;
    those who gather will drink it
    in my holy courtyards.

¹⁰Pass through, pass through the gates;
    prepare the way for the people!
Build, build the road;
    clear away the stones!
    Raise up a signal for the peoples.
¹¹This is what the Lord announced
    to the earth’s distant regions:
Say to Daughter Zion, “Look! Your deliverer arrives,
    bringing reward and payment!”
¹²They will be called The Holy People,
    Redeemed By the Lord.
And you will be called Sought After—
    A City That Is Not Abandoned.
