Isaiah 60:1-6 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

The Lord’s Glory in Zion

60 Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord shines over you.[a]
For look, darkness covers the earth,
and total darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will shine over you,
and His glory will appear over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your radiance.
Raise your eyes and look around:
they all gather and come to you;
your sons will come from far away,
and your daughters will be carried on the hip.
Then you will see and be radiant,
and your heart will tremble and rejoice,[b]
because the riches of the sea will become yours
and the wealth of the nations will come to you.
Caravans of camels will cover your land[c]
young camels of Midian and Ephah—
all of them will come from Sheba.
They will carry gold and frankincense
and proclaim the praises of the Lord.

Psalm 72:1-7 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Psalm 72

A Prayer for the King

Solomonic.

God, give Your justice to the king
and Your righteousness to the king’s son.
He will judge Your people with righteousness
and Your afflicted ones with justice.
May the mountains bring prosperity[a] to the people
and the hills, righteousness.
May he vindicate the afflicted among the people,
help the poor,
and crush the oppressor.

May he continue[b] while the sun endures
and as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass,
like spring showers that water the earth.
May the righteous[c] flourish in his days
and prosperity[d] abound
until the moon is no more.

Psalm 72:10-14 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

10 May the kings of Tarshish
and the coasts and islands bring tribute,
the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
11 Let all kings bow down to him,
all nations serve him.

12 For he will rescue the poor who cry out
and the afflicted who have no helper.
13 He will have pity on the poor and helpless
and save the lives of the poor.
14 He will redeem them from oppression and violence,
for their lives are[a] precious[b] in his sight.

Ephesians 3:1-12 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Paul’s Ministry to the Gentiles

For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— you have heard, haven’t you, about the administration of God’s grace that He gave to me for you? The mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have briefly written above. By reading this you are able to understand my insight about the mystery of the Messiah. This was not made known to people[a] in other generations as it is now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of His power.

This grace was given to me—the least of all the saints—to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah, and to shed light for all about the administration of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things. 10 This is so God’s multi-faceted wisdom may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens. 11 This is according to His eternal purpose accomplished in the Messiah, Jesus our Lord. 12 In Him we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.[b]
