¹⁵ I will ^(A)lay waste the mountains and hills
And wither all their vegetation;
I will ^(B)turn the rivers into coastlands
And dry up the ponds.

² Why was there ^(A)no one when I came?
When I called, why was there no one to answer?
Is My ^(B)hand so short that it cannot redeem?
Or do I have no power to rescue?
Behold, I ^(C)dry up the sea with My rebuke,
I ^(D)turn rivers into a wilderness;
Their fish stink for lack of water,
And die of thirst.

“Behold, I am going to ^(A)plead your case
And ^(B)take vengeance for you;
And ^(C)I will dry up her ^[a]sea
And make her fountain dry.
