For (A)My sword is satiated in heaven;
Behold, it shall descend for judgment upon (B)Edom
And upon the people whom I have (C)devoted to destruction.
The sword of Yahweh is filled with blood;
It is [a]sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats,
With the fat of the kidneys of rams.
For Yahweh has a sacrifice in (D)Bozrah
And a great slaughter in the land of (E)Edom.
(F)And wild oxen will also [b]fall with them,
And (G)young bulls with strong ones;
Thus their land will be (H)soaked with blood,
And their dust [c]become greasy with fat.
For Yahweh has a day of (I)vengeance,
A year of recompense for the [d]cause of Zion.
[e]And its streams will be turned into pitch,
And its dust into (J)brimstone,
And its land will become burning pitch.
10 It will (K)not be quenched night or day;
Its (L)smoke will go up forever.
From (M)generation to generation it will be laid waste;
(N)None will pass through it forever and ever.
11 But [f](O)pelican and hedgehog will possess it,
And [g]owl and raven will dwell in it;
And He will stretch over it the (P)line of utter formlessness
And the [h]plumb line of utter void.
12 Its nobles—there is (Q)no one there
Whom they may proclaim king—
And all its princes will be (R)non-existent.
13 And thorns will come up in its (S)fortified towers,
Weeds and thistles in its fortified cities;
It will also be a haunt of (T)jackals
And an abode of ostriches.
14 And the desert (U)creatures will meet with the [i]wolves;
The [j](V)hairy goat also will cry to its kind;
Surely, the [k]night creature will obtain relief there
And will find itself a resting place.
15 The [l]owl will make its nest and find its escape there,
And it will hatch its eggs and gather them in its shade.
Surely, (W)the [m]falcons will be gathered there,
Every one with its kind.

16 Seek from the (X)book of Yahweh, and read:

Not one of these will be missing;
None will lack its mate.
For [n](Y)His mouth has commanded,
And His Spirit has gathered them.
17 He has cast the (Z)lot for them,
And His hand has divided it to them by (AA)line.
They shall possess it forever;
From (AB)generation to generation they will dwell in it.

And the wild oxen(H) will fall with them,
    the bull calves and the great bulls.(I)

God will stretch out over Edom(U)
    the measuring line of chaos(V)
    and the plumb line(W) of desolation.
12 Her nobles will have nothing there to be called a kingdom,

    and find for themselves places of rest.
15 The owl will nest there and lay eggs,
    she will hatch them, and care for her young
    under the shadow of her wings;(AG)
there also the falcons(AH) will gather,
    each with its mate.

16 Look in the scroll(AI) of the Lord and read:

None of these will be missing,(AJ)
    not one will lack her mate.
For it is his mouth(AK) that has given the order,(AL)
    and his Spirit will gather them together.
17 He allots their portions;(AM)
    his hand distributes them by measure.
They will possess it forever
    and dwell there from generation to generation.(AN)
