⁶ “See, it stands written before me:
    I will not keep silent^(A) but will pay back^(B) in full;
    I will pay it back into their laps^(C)—
⁷ both your sins^(D) and the sins of your ancestors,”^(E)
    says the Lord.
“Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains
    and defied me on the hills,^(F)
I will measure into their laps
    the full payment^(G) for their former deeds.”

¹⁴ All your allies^(A) have forgotten you;
    they care nothing for you.
I have struck you as an enemy^(B) would
    and punished you as would the cruel,^(C)
because your guilt is so great
    and your sins^(D) so many.
¹⁵ Why do you cry out over your wound,
    your pain that has no cure?^(E)
Because of your great guilt and many sins
    I have done these things to you.^(F)
