12 For thus says the Lord:
(A)“Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
    and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
and (B)you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip,
    and bounced upon her knees.

19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them (A)I will send survivors to the nations, to (B)Tarshish, (C)Pul, and (D)Lud, who draw the bow, to (E)Tubal and (F)Javan, (G)to the coastlands far away, (H)that have not heard my fame or seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory among the nations. 20 (I)And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations (J)as an offering to the Lord, on horses and in chariots and in litters and on mules and on dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

19 “Surely your waste and your desolate places
    and your devastated land—
(A)surely now you will be too narrow for your inhabitants,
    and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
20 (B)The children of your bereavement
    will yet say in your ears:
(C)‘The place is too narrow for me;
    make room for me to dwell in.’
21 Then you will say in your heart:
    ‘Who has borne me these?
(D)I was bereaved and barren,
    exiled and put away,
    but who has brought up these?
Behold, I was left alone;
    from where have these come?’”

22 Thus says the Lord God:
“Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations,
    (E)and raise my signal to the peoples;
(F)and they shall bring your sons in their arms,[a]
    and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23 (G)Kings shall be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.
(H)With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you,
    and (I)lick the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;
    (J)those who wait for me (K)shall not be put to shame.”

They will plead with you, saying:
    ‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other,

    they all gather together, they come to you;
(B)your sons shall come from afar,
    and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.
Then you shall see and (C)be radiant;
    your heart shall thrill and exult,[a]

A multitude of camels shall cover you,

All the flocks of (I)Kedar shall be gathered to you;
    the rams of (J)Nebaioth shall minister to you;
(K)they shall come up with acceptance on my altar,
    (L)and I will beautify my beautiful house.

Who are these that fly like a cloud,
    and (M)like doves to their windows?
For (N)the coastlands shall hope for me,
    (O)the ships of Tarshish first,
(P)to bring your children from afar,
    their silver and gold with them,
for the name of the Lord your God,
    and for the Holy One of Israel,
    because (Q)he has made you beautiful.

10 (R)Foreigners shall build up your walls,
    and (S)their kings shall minister to you;
