¹⁷ And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’^[a]?^(A) But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’^[b]”^(B)

⁴⁶ “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’^[a];^(A) but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’^[b]”^(B)

¹¹ My name will be great^(A) among the nations,^(B) from where the sun rises to where it sets.^(C) In every place incense^(D) and pure offerings^(E) will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.

² In the last days^(A)

³ Many peoples^(F) will come and say,

¹³ “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’^[a](A) but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’^[b]”^(B)

Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ

¹¹ Therefore, remember that formerly^(A) you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)^(B)— ¹² remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners^(C) to the covenants of the promise,^(D) without hope^(E) and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once^(F) were far away have been brought near^(G) by the blood of Christ.^(H)

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, I urge you,^(A) brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,^(B) holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
