And your descendants will (A)inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.

(A)Fear not, for I am with you;
I will bring your descendants from the east,
And (B)gather you from the west;
I will say to the (C)north, ‘Give them up!’
And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’
Bring My sons from afar,
And My daughters from the ends of the earth—

(B)I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it.

The (A)Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

“Lift(B) up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, (C)they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,
And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because (D)the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
The multitude of camels shall cover your land,
The dromedaries of Midian and (E)Ephah;
All those from (F)Sheba shall come;
They shall bring (G)gold and incense,
And they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.
All the flocks of (H)Kedar shall be gathered together to you,
The rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you;
They shall ascend with (I)acceptance on My altar,
And (J)I will glorify the house of My glory.

“Who are these who fly like a cloud,
And like doves to their roosts?
(K)Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me;
And the ships of Tarshish will come first,
(L)To bring your sons from afar,
(M)Their silver and their gold with them,
To the name of the Lord your God,
And to the Holy One of Israel,
(N)Because He has glorified you.

10 “The(O) sons of foreigners shall build up your walls,
(P)And their kings shall minister to you;
For (Q)in My wrath I struck you,
(R)But in My favor I have had mercy on you.
11 Therefore your gates (S)shall be open continually;
They shall not be shut day or night,
That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles,
And their kings in procession.
12 (T)For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,
And those nations shall be utterly ruined.

13 “The(U) glory of Lebanon shall come to you,
The cypress, the pine, and the box tree together,
To beautify the place of My sanctuary;
And I will make (V)the place of My feet glorious.

All these gather together and come to you.
As I live,” says the Lord,
“You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all (B)as an ornament,

19 “For your waste and desolate places,

(C)Will even now be too small for the inhabitants;

The Servant of the Lord

42 “Behold! (A)My Servant whom I uphold,
My [a]Elect One in whom My soul (B)delights!
(C)I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
A bruised reed He will not break,
And [b]smoking flax He will not [c]quench;
He will bring forth justice for truth.
He will not fail nor be discouraged,
Till He has established justice in the earth;
(D)And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

Thus says God the Lord,
(E)Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
(F)Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it:
“I,(G) the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You (H)and give You as a covenant to the people,
As (I)a light to the Gentiles,
(J)To open blind eyes,
To (K)bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in (L)darkness from the prison house.
I am the Lord, that is My name;
And My (M)glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

Praise to the Lord

10 (N)Sing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise from the ends of the earth,
(O)You who go down to the sea, and [d]all that is in it,
You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!
11 Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice,
The villages that Kedar inhabits.
Let the inhabitants of Sela sing,
Let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory to the Lord,
And declare His praise in the coastlands.

(C)That the mountain of the Lord’s house

(D)“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”

And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning [a]hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.
