⁶ Therefore my people will know^(A) my name;^(B)
    therefore in that day^(C) they will know
that it is I who foretold^(D) it.
    Yes, it is I.”

¹⁰ This is the covenant^(A) I will establish with the people of Israel
    after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
    and write them on their hearts.^(B)
I will be their God,
    and they will be my people.^(C)
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
    or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,^(D)
    from the least of them to the greatest.

⁹ Though I scatter them among the peoples,
    yet in distant lands they will remember me.^(A)
They and their children will survive,
    and they will return.
¹⁰ I will bring them back from Egypt
    and gather them from Assyria.^(B)
I will bring them to Gilead^(C) and Lebanon,
    and there will not be room^(D) enough for them.
¹¹ They will pass through the sea of trouble;
    the surging sea will be subdued
    and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.^(E)
Assyria’s pride^(F) will be brought down
    and Egypt’s scepter^(G) will pass away.^(H)
12 I will strengthen^(I) them in the Lord
    and in his name they will live securely,^(J)”
declares the Lord.

¹⁹ God is not human,^(A) that he should lie,^(B)
    not a human being, that he should change his mind.^(C)
Does he speak and then not act?
    Does he promise^(D) and not fulfill?

¹⁰ Like your name,^(A) O God,
    your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;^(B)
    your right hand is filled with righteousness.
