²³ Kings^(A) will be your foster fathers,
    and their queens your nursing mothers.^(B)
They will bow down^(C) before you with their faces to the ground;
    they will lick the dust^(D) at your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;^(E)
    those who hope^(F) in me will not be disappointed.^(G)”

¹⁷ They will lick dust^(A) like a snake,
    like creatures that crawl on the ground.
They will come trembling^(B) out of their dens;
    they will turn in fear^(C) to the Lord our God
    and will be afraid of you.

¹⁴ The children of your oppressors^(A) will come bowing before you;
    all who despise you will bow down^(B) at your feet
and will call you the City^(C) of the Lord,
    Zion^(D) of the Holy One^(E) of Israel.

¹⁶ You will drink the milk of nations
    and be nursed^(A) at royal breasts.
Then you will know^(B) that I, the Lord, am your Savior,^(C)
    your Redeemer,^(D) the Mighty One of Jacob.^(E)

¹⁰ “Foreigners^(A) will rebuild your walls,
    and their kings^(B) will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
    in favor^(C) I will show you compassion.^(D)
11 Your gates^(E) will always stand open,
    they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations^(F)—
    their kings^(G) led in triumphal procession.

“The products^(A) of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,^[a]
    and those tall Sabeans^(B)—
they will come over to you^(C)
    and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,^(D)
    coming over to you in chains.^(E)
They will bow down before you
    and plead^(F) with you, saying,
‘Surely God is with you,^(G) and there is no other;
    there is no other god.^(H)’”

³ No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,^(A)
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous^(B) without cause.
