²³ By myself I have sworn,^(A)
    my mouth has uttered in all integrity^(B)
    a word that will not be revoked:^(C)
Before me every knee will bow;^(D)
    by me every tongue will swear.^(E)

¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,^(A)
    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,^(B)

“‘As surely as I live,’^(C) says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”^[b](D)

¹¹ so is my word^(A) that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,^(B)
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose^(C) for which I sent it.

¹¹ But the king will rejoice in God;
    all who swear by God will glory in him,^(A)
    while the mouths of liars will be silenced.^(B)

¹⁶ Whoever invokes a blessing^(A) in the land
    will do so by the one true God;^(B)
whoever takes an oath in the land
    will swear^(C) by the one true God.
For the past troubles^(D) will be forgotten
    and hidden from my eyes.

¹⁹ I have not spoken in secret,^(A)
    from somewhere in a land of darkness;^(B)
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,^(C)
    ‘Seek^(D) me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
    I declare what is right.^(E)

² He swore an oath to the Lord,
    he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:^(A)
