¹⁴ When Amaziah returned from slaughtering the Edomites, he brought back the gods of the people of Seir. He set them up as his own gods,^(A) bowed down to them and burned sacrifices to them.

²⁰ The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent^(A) of the work of their hands;^(B) they did not stop worshiping demons,^(C) and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.^(D)

¹⁹ But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt^(A) than those of their ancestors,^(B) following other gods and serving and worshiping them.^(C) They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn^(D) ways.
