¹⁶ I will bring the blind by a way they did not know;
I will lead them in paths they have not known.
I will make darkness light before them,
And crooked places straight.
These things I will do for them,
And not forsake them.

And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;

²¹ Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”

Or whenever you turn to the left.

And every mountain and hill brought low;

And the rough places smooth;

^3 (A)The eyes of those who see will not be dim,
And the ears of those who hear will listen.

^18 (A)In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book,
And the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

With which the ^[a]Dayspring from on high ^[b]has visited us;
^79 (A)To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To ^(B)guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light,

Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;

And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
