¹¹ So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place ^[a]Baal Perazim.

²⁰ So David went to ^(A)Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place ^[a]Baal Perazim.

¹² Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:

¹⁰ So the Lord ^(A)routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes ^(B)to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as ^(C)Azekah and Makkedah.

¹⁶ So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from ^[a]Gibeon as far as Gezer.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

⁴¹ Now as He drew near, He saw the city and ^(A)wept over it, ⁴² saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this ^(B)your day, the things that ^(C)make for your ^(D)peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For days will come upon you when your enemies will ^(E)build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, ^44 (F)and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and ^(G)they will not leave in you one stone upon another, ^(H)because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

²⁵ And David did so, as the Lord commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from ^(A)Geba^[a] as far as ^(B)Gezer.
